Appeal for IT equipment
Further to the success of our appeal in March for personal protective equipment (for which we remain grateful for all the donations we received and very fortunate not to have needed to use them), we are now wondering if anyone can help us with our request this time around.
Do you have any spare IT equipment which you no longer require and would be willing to donate to us: web cameras, speakers, microphones, tablets, or any such similar IT equipment? Whilst we do have some that we use currently, it would be beneficial to have access to more.
These items would be used by our co-workers (international volunteers) and employees to support communication with our residents during the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly when they may find themselves isolated. This situation is very different to their usual routines and the IT equipment would help to ensure regular contact and communication with the people who matter most to them.
Further to this, we would also use donated equipment to keep in touch with our day students who, for now, are unable to be in our community due to social distancing and restrictions on non-essential travel. It would help us to provide emotional support, along with daily, online activities.
Please feel free to share this need with your friends too.
