The dental practice in Callander has recently announced that it will cease providing NHS dental services for adults over eighteen years of age as from February 2023. The present catchment area for the practice has followed the McLaren High School catchment area and includes: Killin and all the surrounding villages southwards to Callander; Brig o’ Turk; Doune; Thornhill; Aberfoyle and its surrounding villages. Forth Valley Health Board has advised that there are no dental practices offering NHS dental services for new patients anywhere in the Stirling area and that local residents now have to travel some distance to obtain NHS dental services.
The Secretary of the community council in Callander has launched an online petition to voice concern at the loss of NHS services in Callander and to seek the support of the Forth Valley Health Board and the Scottish Government in providing a new, locally based NHS dental service for residents of Callander and the surrounding towns and villages.
